Alison Alesi, J.D. is the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Georgia State University. Her responsibilities include oversight of the Institutional Review Boards (“IRBs”) to promote the rights, safety and welfare of human research participants, and oversight of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (“IACUC”) to ensure the humane care and use of animals in research and teaching. Alison provides compliance guidance and support to faculty, staff and student researchers and also serves as a voting member of GSU’s IRBs.
Prior to joining Georgia State University, Alison was the Director of Regulatory Compliance for an independent IRB primarily overseeing FDA-regulated biomedical human subjects research. Her professional experience also includes time as a practicing attorney in the field of defense litigation.
Alison received a Juris Doctor from Emory University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from the University of Georgia. She is a Certified IRB Professional (“CIP”) and member of Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (“PRIM&R”).
