Assistant Vice President, Research Solutions Research Solutions- Biography
Yuri Lukinov is Assistant Vice President for Research, Research Solutions. He oversees technology, technical support and infrastructure management for URSA, Research Administration and the Office of the Vice President of Research and Economic Development.
Lukinov is part of the team that designed and oversees the Advanced Research Computing Technology & Innovation Core (ARCTIC) supercomputer data center, funded by a National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Major Instrumentation Grant (MRI), that serves Georgia State’s research community and will eventually be available to researchers worldwide.
ARCTIC is utilized by Georgia State researchers conducting computationally intensive research to support research analysis, modeling, simulation and used to help make research-based predictions on phenomena. ARCTIC provides high-performance computing clusters, data storage systems, research networking, and cloud computing.
Lukinov’s educational background is in Aerospace Engineering. He has worked for Georgia State for nearly 15 years.
